it seems like everybody’s gaming experience on their TR is very good and I decided to install my favourite “Age of Mythology” on my TR. However, to my despair, the mouse is very jerky and I don’t think it is even “playable”. I am using a travel USB optical mouse from Targus (don’t know the model) and it is working fine when I am not playing.
Is there anything that I should/can do to improve my gaming experience. My driver is “Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller”. By the way, I see 2 entries of “Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller” under Systems -> Device Manager -> Display adapters. Is this normal?
Call of duty runs quite well. I booted it up without adjusting any settings just to see if it would run on the defaults and surprise surprise It Did! This game really pushes graphics cards and i had to upgrade my desktop to a Gforce 4 just to run it, so that says something about the TR’s graphics ability.
I actually installed a no-cd patch so i dont have to have my drive spinning the whole time and am happily rocking through the single player levels. Next test will be to try it online.
GTA3 runs but very “chuggy”—but when I tried Vice City, this game actually ran smoother than GTA3 (!). Probably Vice’s game engine is a lot more optimised from the looks of it.
Need for Speed Underground is a slow poke—especially, when you get more than one car on the screen. This is even with all music and visual effects turned off.
Half Life Condition Zero very playable but an external mouse very highly recommended (for any FPS for that matter).
Command and Conquer Generals is playable but gets frustrating when a lot of things start happening (multiple attacks on your army while you are trying to build resources).
“Slow” games like CSI are fine.
Very impressive for a notebook; however, I’ve realised that the “adaptive” CPU setting may cause some games (e.g. GTA3) to pause too long when I’m trying to switch to the Windows desktop (e.g. “boss” mode). I’ve set it to Max performance and my TR3 has been fine.

Half Life Condition Zero on MY TR was pause alot but it was playable. Maybe iprocessor’s setting was adaptive.
works on the TR
does not cost an arm and a leg to play
has excellent gameplay and alot of online players
I know Sony had one that came out with the TR1/2, Everquest, is it any good in relation to my requirements?....... I got hooked on Diablo II years ago and would like to find something that gripping again to play
Everquest is still active as a game, don’t think it was on dreamcast though, I would try playing Everquest but I don’t like the idea of buying a gaming card to play online etc etc…..
Diablo was played through battlenet, which did not charge you anything to play online
[quote author=“tifosiv122”][quote author=“Airwave”]Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead 2 and Destruction Desire are fully playable with all details set to “maximum”
Are you talking about the dreamcast games? If so, how do you play them on the PC, is there an emulator out?
Erik
No, i was talking about the pc conversion of theses games (by Empire). They were released between 2002 (House of the Dead, Crazy Taxi) and 2003 (Virtua Tennis), so it’s pretty easy for the TR to run them smoothly. Anyway, Dreamcast emulation is the current hot topic on the emulation scene. Chankast is a powerful dreamcast emulator (check it there ) with a very high compatibility list for such an early release. But you’ll need autoboot iso image since nobody has a giga-disc drive in its pc ... And a good configuration too, on my development machine (P4 2ghz - 1gb DDRII - GeForce 4mx440 it sometimes heavily slows down ) Don’t expect to play dreamcast game on any TR so (we still have a much more powerful portable playstation since Playstation emulation is top quality on the TR )

Thanks. I found the Empire site, its not a US company so I never heard of them. It seems they no longer sell Virtua Tennis (the only reason I still own my dreamcast). Which emulator do you use for Playstation that works well on the TR?
